Tullymore Golf Resort

A hidden-gem 36 in the Michigan heartland — bold Engh architecture at friendly rates.

The place

Tucked into the lakes-and-wetlands country of central Michigan, Tullymore is the trip for crews who want architecture with an accent. Jim Engh — a designer with a cult following for his muscular, sculpted style — built the namesake course through wetlands and hardwoods, and it plays like nothing else in the region. The St. Ives course across the property answers with dramatic elevation of its own, on-site villas keep the crew together, and nearby Bucks Run adds a third quality round. Green fees stay honest all week, and the Canadian Lakes area supplies pontoons, fish fries and quiet.

Why it wins

Booking notes

Stay-and-play packages bundle both courses and the villas; midweek rates are the steal. Add Bucks Run as the away round and let the concierge arrange the tee-time ladder.
